The Jim Moran Institute is involved in a number of outreach activities designed to improve the quality of life and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of local communities in Florida. Please visit some of The Jim Moran Institute's outreach programs to see how we impact the community.
The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship created Advice Straight Up: An Expert Entrepreneur Speaker Series to provide business leaders, non-profit CEOs, and entrepreneurs access to nationally recognized speakers who can share their experiences in launching new ventures and building innovative businesses. These accomplished speakers not only demonstrate genuine passion for entrepreneurship, but also share practical, valuable insight about surviving in today's aggressive business marketplace.
The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) is a novel, one-of-a-kind initiative designed to leverage the skills, resources and infrastructure of higher education to offer cutting-edge, experiential training in entrepreneurship and small business management to post-9/11 veterans with service-connected disabilities. The aim of the program is to open the door to economic opportunity for our veterans by developing their competencies in the steps and activities associated with creating and sustaining an entrepreneurial venture. Program curriculum is designed to take participants through the steps and stages of venture creation, with a tailored emphasis on the unique challenges and opportunities associated with being a veteran business owner. Importantly, the entire EBV training program is offered without any cost to participating veterans.
The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship Fellows Program consists of three distinct groups: The North Florida Outreach Fellows, South Florida Outreach Fellows, and Education Fellows. The fellows represent a community of professional and scholarly individuals from a wide array of backgrounds and professions who share their experience, perspective, and expertise in assisting small business owners and non-profit leaders with the North Florida and South Florida Outreach programs and/or aspiring student entrepreneurs at Florida State University.
The faculty and outreach staff of The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship serve established entrepreneurs and business owners in the North Florida community through programs designed to take advantage of local resources and help its clients’ businesses – and the region’s economy – grow and prosper.
