The Tallahassee Community College Workforce Development Leadership Institute was pleased to offer “A DAY OF DIALOGUE: For Women, About Women, By Women.” The daylong event featured a keynote address from Nancy Carter, Ph.D. a senior vice president of Catalyst, Inc. Carter, formerly the Richard M. Schulze Chair in Entrepreneurship at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis and recipient of the 2007 Global Entrepreneurship Research Award for work on the Diana Project, has more than 30 years of experience as a researcher, educator and consultant specializing in women’s professional development and advancement. She discussed traditional gender stereotypes and the limitations imposed by such labels, and presented new research pertaining to the emerging model of Inclusive Leadership including the attributes required to create such an environment.

The remainder of the day included an exploration of meaningful questions, harvesting of ideas and the development of a prototype around the question “What do women need to be confident and effective leaders?”

The daylong event included breakfast, the keynote presentation, all sessions, lunch and a tour of San Luis.

As part of Advice Straight Up: An Expert Entrepreneur Speaker Series, the Jim Moran Institute sponsored Nancy Carter to speak at the "A DAY OF DIALOGUE: For Women, By Women" event hosted in 2014 by Tallahassee Community College's Leadership Institute, a part of the Division of Workforce Development.
