Debie Leonard has more than 30 years of experience in providing tax, accounting and business advisory services to a variety of individuals, small businesses, estates, trusts, not-for-profit organizations, political organizations and charitable foundations. Selected responsibilities include planning, review of tax returns, research on tax engagements, and wealth management planning. She has been involved in the preparation of several applications for exempt status, representation before the Internal Revenue Service, income tax planning strategies, personal financial planning, estate planning, charitable planned giving and retirement planning. Leonard has extensive experience working with 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4) and 501(c)(6) organizations and related combinations of those entities. She frequently speaks on the Form 990, executive compensation, unrelated business activities, and lobbying and political issues at conferences and seminars.
Leonard is a member of the Tallahassee Regional Estate Planning Council. She also serves or has served on the FSU Foundation Planned Giving Council, the United Way of the Big Bend, the American Lung Association of the Big Bend Region, and the Mary Brogan Museum of Arts & Sciences, in addition to being a very active member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). Leonard is also a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee, Class XIII and a former president of Leadership Tallahassee. In 2013, Leonard was selected by the Tallahassee Democrat as one of the 25 Women You Need to Know and officially joined Club 25, where she currently serves as a Board Member and Treasurer.
Leonard graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Florida State University. Additionally, Leonard has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Personal Financial Specialist from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
